In addition, the ForSea Foundation has announced that four ex-Royal Thai AF C-47s (and six S-58T helicopters) currently stored at Lop Buri are to be sunk on 08May08, about a kilometer off Bang Tao Beach on Phuket island to create an artificial dive reef. All three of Maurice Roundy's Starliners – N974R (c/n 1040), N7316C (1018) and N8083H (1038) – together with a quantity of spares and associated documentation, were sold at auction on 18Dec07 to Lufthansa Berlin-Stiftung. The organisation signed a letter of intent the same evening with Auburn/Lewiston MAP, ME, to construct a 50,000 sq ft hangar and has since announced its intention of returning N7316C to airworthy condition. N974R (at Polk City ) and N8083H are expected to be broken up for parts. When complete, N7316C will join the organisation's Ju52 on the European air show and pleasure flying circuit; form an orderly queue...
