SBS-1 Populate Utility Beta Test Instructions

Before Installing, please ensure your computer has the following MINIMUM features...

• MS Windows Vista, MS Windows XP with SP2, MS Windows Server2003 with SP1, or MS Windows 2000 with SP4.
• 600Mhz Pentium or compatible equivalent.
• Kinetic BaseStation 'Snoopy' v119 installed.

Please do not try to use it on lesser platforms. The program has NOT been tested to robust commercial standards across multiple platforms and is still at a beta test level.

1. UNINSTALL any previous version of SBSPopulate using Control Panel (see 11.).
2. BACKUP your SBS Database at c:/Program Files/BaseStation/BaseStation.sqb or from your alternative location, if applicable.
3. Download the ZIP file (see below) and Save it to a location of your choice.
4. Extract the files with your preferred UNZIP utility. It is recommended that you create a new unzip folder C:/Program Files/GAS for this purpose.
5. Open the unzip folder and click the Setup.exe icon.
6. The program will now install itself. If you have NOT got the .NET Framework V2 (or above) installed, the installation process should download and install it automatically as the first step. This may take a short while and a Broadband connection is strongly recommended. Click OK to any certificate warning messages.

7. Step 6 is not necessary when using Windows Vista which incorporates .NET3 as standard.
8. On completion, if the program does not start automatically, use Start>>All Programs >>SBSPopulate
9. Ensure that the program is pointing to the folder in which you keep your SBS Database (BaseStation.sqb). The current setting is displayed at the very bottom left of the main SBSPopulate window. It defaults to c:\Program Files\Kinetic\BaseStation but may be changed using the Settings>>Database option.
10. A desktop shortcut may be produced using Start>>All Programs >>SBSPopulate, right clicking 'Create Shortcut', dragging the result to the desktop and renaming as required.
11. The program can be completely removed from your computer by using Start>>Contol Panel>>Add or Remove Programs, selecting SBSPopulate and clicking 'Change/Remove'.
